Job Description:

This ER travel assignment in Freeport, Illinois, offers a hands-on opportunity to work in a bustling community hospital emergency department. You'll be providing emergency care to a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, managing everything from minor injuries to critical situations. Expect to handle approximately 60-80 patients over a 24-hour period, with patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5 depending on acuity and staffing. The role involves performing moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, and managing critical care drips, all while collaborating closely with one physician and multiple mid-level providers. You’ll assist with wound care, blood draws (phlebotomy experience required), transport, and room support, while also troubleshooting equipment and interpreting monitor readings. This assignment is perfect for travelers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable adapting to rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, with a flexible schedule. The unit features a triage area, behavioral health safe rooms, and on-site imaging facilities. As part of your responsibilities, you'll integrate into a supportive team that includes ED techs, RTs, nurses, and house supervisors, delivering quality emergency care to the local community.
