Job Description:

This registered nurse position in the Surgical Oncology/PCU unit offers a fast-paced environment caring for adult and geriatric patients with various oncologic diagnoses, including breast, thyroid, melanoma, liver, pancreas, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive surgeries. You will be working 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) on a rotating schedule, providing care that involves chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, and management of oncologic emergencies. The role emphasizes infection prevention and patient safety, with the chance to float within your scope to meet department needs. Expect to engage in high-acuity patient care that requires quick thinking and adaptability, with staffing ratios typically around 1:4 or 1:5 during the shift. Prior experience of at least two years is required, along with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. This assignment is designed for those ready to tackle a busy surgical oncologic unit and develop specialized skills in oncology nursing.
