Job Description:

This 13-week contract position is a chance to work on the fast-paced step-down/med-surg unit at a reputable hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. You will be scheduled for 12-hour night shifts, providing comprehensive care for patients with a variety of diagnoses. Your responsibilities include performing admission assessments, medication reconciliation, initiating acute care orders, and supporting patient safety and comfort. You'll work primarily in a unit focused on ED decompression, often receiving patients directly from the emergency department, making each shift impactful. The role offers an opportunity to utilize your advanced skills, including charge nurse experience, and to work with modern equipment like Baxter IV pumps and Cerner documentation systems. This setting emphasizes teamwork, quick decision-making, and a focus on patient throughput, with floating to other units as needed.
