Job Description:

This 13-week contract in Evansville, IN, offers a hands-on Med/Surg nursing experience at a busy teaching hospital. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, providing care to a diverse patient population including post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, COPD, CHF, and high fall risk patients. Responsibilities include managing chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight caths, Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood products, and tracheostomies, all while demonstrating strong assessment and critical thinking skills. Flexibility to float within skill sets across nearby campuses is expected, with some mid-shift and cross-campus float opportunities. This role requires a current compact license, AHA BLS, NIHSS certification, and a minimum of two years' experience in Med/Surg—preferably with recent EPIC charting. It’s a demanding yet rewarding chance to sharpen your skills in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and resilience are valued.
