Job Description:

Join a specialized behavioral health unit in Bangor, ME, as a Registered Nurse with pediatric and adult mental health experience. In this 13-week contract, you’ll provide care in a 94-bed facility that treats patients from ages 5 to 18 (pediatrics) and 18+ (adults). Your role will involve managing patients diagnosed with conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and suicidal ideation. You will be expected to support both pediatric and adult populations, floating between units as needed, and contribute to a multidisciplinary team. This assignment offers the opportunity to lead de-escalation efforts, run therapeutic groups, and collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals. Work days will primarily involve medication management, documentation, physical restraint procedures (chemical restraints not used), and providing a safe, supportive environment for patients in a locked facility with acute inpatient services.
