Job Description:

This 13-week contract offers experienced perioperative nurses an opportunity to work in a facility with a mix of general, orthopedic, neuro, OB-GYN, ENT, cardiovascular, urology, pediatric dental, and surgical oncology cases. Travelers will focus on a variety of surgeries, including fractures, scopes, plastics, GI, and urology, with the chance to scrub in on both circulating and sterile roles. The environment is fast-paced, with an average of 15-22 cases daily across four operating rooms and one procedure room. The shift runs from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, with scheduled call responsibilities—two days per week and one weekend per month. Certification requirements include BLS, ACLS, and PALS (for pediatric cases). Proficiency in Epic charting and experience of at least two years are essential. The facility uses Omnicel and offers a one-week on-unit orientation supplemented with virtual education. Local candidates are preferred, and vaccine requirements include flu vaccination with medical exemptions only accepted with documentation. Fingerprinting is handled remotely or in person a week prior to start at either Jackson or Grenada campuses. This assignment offers a chance to refine perioperative skills while working in a supportive setting that values each team member’s expertise.
