Job Description:

This RN position in Birmingham, Alabama, offers a chance to work with post-cardiac surgery patients in the Cardiac unit at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. You'll be covering night shifts (12-hour nights) for a 13-week contract, managing a patient load of four to one with access to GE monitors and Cerner EMR. Your primary responsibility will be to care for critically ill cardiac patients, supporting their recovery through monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role is suited for outgoing professionals who have at least two years of experience in cardiac or CV surgery settings, with required certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIH. The environment encourages a focus on patient safety and comfort while embracing the fast-paced rhythm of cardiac care without the need for call obligations.
