Job Description:

This telemetry RN contract places you on a newly established Medical Surgical/telemetry unit in a growing facility. You'll handle a varied caseload including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, and post-op overflow such as total joints and GI surgeries. The role involves working 12-hour night shifts, with a challenging but rewarding pace of 1:5-6 patient ratios and support staff including charge nurses, phlebotomists, and in-house RTs and hospitalists. Preparation includes passing an EKG competency exam and possessing certifications like BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Expect to float to different Med/Surg areas and participate in a 2-4 day orientation, with mandatory weekend work, holiday coverage, and up to 7 days of time off. No on-call duties are required. This assignment offers hands-on wound management, IV therapy, and support with advanced devices, providing a comprehensive acute care experience.
