Job Description:

This travel contract positions you in a busy obstetrics unit where you'll assist with antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients. You'll be responsible for providing immediate postpartum and newborn care, supporting patient recovery in the PACU post-C-section, and ensuring smooth unit operations. The role involves working 12-hour night shifts, with the opportunity to float within the OB department, but strictly no outside floating outside obstetrics. Expect to be part of a team caring for approximately 170 deliveries each month, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1-2:1. Prior experience of at least one year (preferably two) in a similar setting, along with BLS and NRP certifications, is required. You’ll utilize Epic EMR, fetal monitoring surveillance, and medication dispensing systems as part of your daily workflow. This assignment offers a blend of patient-focused responsibilities and procedural support, making it an engaging and essential role within the hospital environment.
