Job Description:

This Registered Nurse position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) offers a unique opportunity for experienced ICU nurses to work in a mixed-unit setting with 39 beds, including MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods. The role involves caring for complex ICU patients such as surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases, with diagnoses ranging from ARDS and MI to trauma-related injuries. You will manage patients requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic lines, and medications like vasopressors and sedatives, all within a 12-hour night shift schedule. The assignment emphasizes independence, critical thinking, and teamwork, with the potential for precepting students. Expect to work with Epic electronic charting, hemodynamic management, and possibly Impella, IABP, or CRRT support, depending on your experience. Note that float to other adult floors is possible but uncommon, and prior ICU experience is required for consideration. This is an engaging role for seasoned ER nurses seeking to apply their skills in a fast-paced critical care environment.
