Job Description:

Join a travel contract as a Registered Nurse in a PCU/Tele setting at 353 Fairmont Boulevard in Rapid City, South Dakota. This role focuses on adult inpatient care across a wide range of medical diagnoses, with a strong emphasis on telemetry skills, complex monitoring, and ICU-level readiness for floating as needed (PCU RN qualified to float to ICU; ICU RN qualified to float to ED). You’ll work 12-hour nights as part of a unit team supported by charge nursing coverage, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and centralized tele monitoring that assists with rhythm review and alarm notifications.

What makes this assignment distinctive: night shift scheduling with a structured preceptor orientation (two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor after online/in-class education), weekend rotation expectations every other or 50% weekends, and an RN paired model with LPN team nursing—meaning you’ll take your own patient load while coordinating around scope-based task swapping. PCU RN expectations include cardiac and vasoactive drip titration (with common drips including heparin, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and levophed up to 5 mcg), cardiac rhythm interpretation, and skills such as insulin drip management, CIWA, drain/tube care, catheter management, continuous bladder irrigation, and chest tube maintenance.

Required basics for PCU/Tele: BLS and ACLS for RN. This contract is for registered nurses who can demonstrate PCU/Tele readiness and the ability to perform within the unit’s monitoring and escalation workflow.
