Job Description:

Join a Level II Trauma Center in Rapid City, SD, as a Registered Nurse in the Post-Intensive Care Unit (PCU). This 13-week contract offers 12-hour day or night shifts, providing an engaging and hands-on experience caring for a mix of intermediate and critical cardiac and vascular patients. You'll manage direct admits, ED admits, post-cardiac cath recovery, and complex post-op patients, including those after TAVR, EP studies, and pacemaker insertions. The unit operates with a patient ratio of approximately 1 RN to 3-4 patients, requiring your expertise in cardiac pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, and vasoactive medication management. Certified in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, you'll bring at least 1.5 years of general nursing experience and one year in a cardiac or step-down setting. Expect to support a team with CNA colleagues, peripheral blood draws, and cardiac rhythm oversight, all within a resource-rich environment utilizing Epic, Alaris, and Omnicell systems.
