Job Description:
This contract opportunity places you in a rural critical access hospital, where you'll work in the Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical, or Swing Bed Unit. Expect to manage a diverse geriatric and adult patient population, including those with dementia, stroke, wounds, and post-acute care needs. Your role involves utilizing team nursing with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8, administering IV medications, fluids, and blood, and responding to trauma cases in the ER. Certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are required, along with at least 2 years of experience. Your expertise in dementia, stroke, skin care, and geriatric patient care will be key to providing quality care. The role includes handling titratable IV drips, troubleshooting RT equipment, and interpreting EKG strips. Working with a charge nurse, nurse aides, and RT support, you'll follow team assignments and coordinate care efficiently in a 12-hour night shift schedule. This is an engaging opportunity to bring your skills to a close-knit, rural healthcare setting and make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
