Job Description:

Join our team for a rewarding 13-week travel assignment in Peoria, Illinois, working in the Acute Cardiac Intermediate Unit as an RN. This role involves caring for stepdown patients transitioning from ICU, including those with heart failure, post-procedure needs like TAVRs and Ablations, and ventilated patients with complex cardiac conditions. Expect to work 12-hour day shifts, with the opportunity to float to higher acuity units if needed. This assignment offers the chance to sharpen your skills in advanced cardiovascular interventions and work with state-of-the-art equipment such as Swan Ganz catheters, external pacemakers, and ventilators, all while experiencing a setting that values independence and critical thinking. Job Specifics:

Location: Peoria, Illinois. Shift: 12-hour days. Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week. Candidates should have at least two years of CVICU experience, strong assessment skills, and proficiency in interpreting strips and titrating multiple drips such as dopamine, epi, vasopressin, and insulin. The role requires handling ventilated patients, including those with trachs, external pacemakers, and complex cardiac interventions. RNs are expected to read and interpret Philips monitoring strips and work collaboratively with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs. Previous experience with VADs, transplants, or immediate post-op cardiac patients is a bonus but not required. The unit operates 24/7 with rotating weekends and holidays, and RNs may be asked to float across any care level within the department, always prepared to handle multiple complex patients simultaneously. Proper dress code and orientation are provided to ensure smooth integration into this specialized team.
