Job Description:

This 13-week contract in Wausau, Wisconsin, offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced emergency department as a registered nurse. The role involves rotating 12-hour night shifts, providing critical care support in a Trauma Level II designated setting. You’ll manage a diverse patient population, including neuro, cardiac, pediatric, and geriatric cases, using Epic charting and Pyxis medication dispensing. Flexibility is required as float assignments may take you to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, or Stanley. Expect to handle approximately 3-4 patients per nurse while drawing labs, administering neb treatments, and supporting in-house X-ray staff. The assignment emphasizes resilience and independence, with guaranteed hours and on-call responsibilities during low census periods. Successful candidates will have at least 2 years of experience, including trauma, and hold all necessary certifications, including WI RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC. This role provides a dynamic environment with opportunities to refine your emergency nursing skills in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
