Job Description:

Join this 13-week RN contract on a PCU unit in Kearney, Nebraska, where you'll work 12-hour day shifts, providing critical care to adult patients with varied diagnoses such as cardiac conditions, dialysis needs, stroke recovery, and post-procedural care. This role offers a hands-on experience with arterial lines, titratable drips, and high-flow oxygen therapy, all within a 40-bed unit that averages 24 patients daily. You'll collaborate closely with charge nurses, nurse aides, and telemetry techs, interpreting monitor strips and troubleshooting equipment like ventilators and bladder scanners. The unit emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and continuous learning in a diverse, culturally rich environment, primarily serving Hispanic and Somali populations. A positive attitude and adaptability are key to success here, with a focus on patient experience and communication. Expect to be an integral part of a supportive team, working every other weekend and participating in unit-specific orientation to ensure you're prepared to meet the unit's unique needs.
