Job Description:

Join a dedicated Emergency Department team in Artesia, New Mexico, for a 13-week travel contract where you'll be the backbone of a busy hospital handling everything from minor injuries to major traumas. This role offers the chance to work 12-hour day shifts, managing a patient load of approximately 40-50 per day in a facility that is currently working toward Trauma Level IV designation. Expect to perform a variety of critical tasks such as mixing and titrating drips like Amio, Cardizem, Epi, and Insulin, and interpreting tele and EKG readings — all in a setting that thrives on critical thinking and independence. Your experience in Level 1 or 2 EDs, or trauma experience, will be highly valued here. Be prepared to handle a wide range of diagnoses, including STEMIs, strokes, crush injuries, burns, and more, in a hospital located near an oil field. As part of your duties, you'll assist with secretarial tasks, vital sign assessments, ADLs, and I/Os, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3. The hospital operates 24/7 security and has diverse diagnostic resources including X-ray, CT, US, MRI, and portable imaging.
